Helping communication between farmers & beekeepers so beekeepers are notified when insecticides are being used nearby.

The BeeConnected service has been developed by the Voluntary Initiative, supported by CropLife UK. Designed to bring farmers and beekeepers together, and keeping beekeepers notified when a neighbouring farmer is applying insecticides to their crops that may present a risk to bees.

Farmers & Spray Contractors
Enter the details of when and where they are planning to spray an insecticide that may present a risk to bees (for instance on a flowering crop, or where the field has a conservation buffer strip), and a notification is sent to neighbouring registered beekeepers.

Beekeepers
Beekeepers register the position of their hives via an easy to use mapping system, and receive notifications from registered farmers when they are planning to spray their crops at a proximity of their choosing up to 5km away.
