Our latest online platform brings together property listings, tenant preferences and matching technology to help social housing tenants explore home swap opportunities across the UK.
101 Websites & Apps has launched Tenant Exchange, a free online home swap service for social housing tenants across the UK.
Developed by our Norwich-based team, the platform draws on more than 25 years' experience creating websites and apps, including online platforms using advanced matching technology. Tenant Exchange has already attracted thousands of subscribers, with numbers growing steadily.
Why We Developed Tenant Exchange
Finding a new home can be difficult for people living in council or housing association properties. There may be limited choice, long waiting lists and few opportunities to move to a preferred area or property type.
We built Tenant Exchange to support social housing tenants exploring another option for moving home called mutual exchange.
A mutual exchange is an arrangement where two social housing tenants agree to swap their homes, subject to approval from their landlords. This can give people an opportunity to find a new home without relying solely on a suitable property becoming available through the usual routes.
How Tenant Exchange Works
Tenant Exchange gives tenants a place to advertise their current home, set preferences for the home they would like to move to, browse available properties and find potential matches with other tenants across the UK.
The service is free to use and is designed to make it easier for people to explore home swap opportunities that suit their needs.
Helping More People Discover Tenant Exchange
We want to make sure that people who could benefit from Tenant Exchange know that it exists.
We encourage housing providers to share information about the service through their websites and tenant communications. Businesses and community organisations can also help by passing on details of Tenant Exchange to employees, suppliers, partners or customers who may be interested in a home swap, or by sharing the website through their own networks.
Our Tenant Exchange poster is also available for organisations that would like to display information about the service at their workplace or premises.
