BIFA became a customer of 101 in 2003. Since that time we have provided them with several online solutions beyond their main website. An annual awards website, a member location database, an online library / knowledgebase together with an email marketing system have all been added to the portfolio of products provided and supported by 101.
BIFA were looking for an agency who understood trade associations and the specific challenges they face. Their website had to provide their members with access to the information they needed, usually protected by a secure log in. The site also had a marketing function in attracting potential new members and as the public face of the industry it has a PR task to inform the public at large.
The website had to be content managed allowing BIFA to update material in all areas of the site including updated membership data together with details of forthcoming events and training courses. A further important requirement was a tool which visitors could use to find a BIFA freight forwarder based on a number of criteria including geographic location.
An extensive review at their offices of their then current website and their expectations for the future led to a number of design ideas and site structures. The accuracy of this work can be appreciated by the fact that the basic structure of the site is still in use. Even as we are now into the third iteration of the main website.
The website provides BIFA with a variety of access levels and subscription options to suit their membership levels and non-member users. Members receive full access to all areas of the website and a regular email bulletin containing targeted news and events plus all public updates matching their profile. Non-members can sign up for the email bulletin and also receive regular updates of BIFA news, Industry news and events.
BIFA manage the majority of the content on their website via our Content Management System (CMS). In addition we have utilised data feeds from their back office systems to take daily updates of membership records and training courses. Whilst the website is very easy to update all BIFA staff have access to our 'Just Call Us' support for assistance when needed.
After the initial contract for the main website we have also provided a website containing their library and online knowledge base for member use. A website to promote and manage their annual awards event. Finally, there is an interactive search function on the main website which allows visitors to easily find a freight forwarder based on their location and other criteria.
101 were able to fulfil all our needs for the site from the initial planning phase to going live. Their design team came up with a very distinctive & attractive design that formed an important part of our strong corporate identity. The site is easily navigated & included all the elements that we wanted.
